REAL-TIME CLASS MONITORING SYSTEM
(HARDWARE-BASED)

This is a KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) technology system, where signals from the keyboard, video and mouse are tapped to facilitate real-time monitoring of a network of computers in a computer / language lab by the teacher / instructor. The KVM network sits on the existing network without disturbing it.

Control by the teacher / instructor includes:

  • Scanning all student screens to see who is doing what
  • blanking of all student screens, to obtain attention
  • broadcasting a student screen to all, or group of students
  • broadcasting a video input (eg DVD, VCD, VCR) to all screens
  • broadcasting a video input (eg document camera, or TV broadcast) to all screens
  • broadcasting a video input (eg remote lecturer) on video-conferencing
Student facilities include:
  • Help button
  • Intercom facility
  • Yes/No polling button
The system can handle more than 128 PCs on the network, in groups, in separate rooms or in separate floors/buildings.
